Diagnosis: I guess I'll live

Well it's been one heck of a week. I had a colonoscopy on Tuesday. By the way, if you ever get a chance to have a 4 and a half foot tube shoved up your butt, RUN!!!!!!
I had the follow-up appointment today. The verdict: I have "ulcerative colitis."

The way the doctor explained it to me goes this way: The are no warning signs, there are no discriminating factors, and unfortunately, there are no cures. Medicine will help make it manageable, but I will never have a normal life again. I will have inflammation flare ups the rest of my life. And I get to have a colonoscopy ever year as a check up!

Really, there are some up-sides. I don't have to change my diet, at all. It isn't influenced by what I eat. Ok, so really that's the only up-side. Well that and the fact that I have lost over 15 pounds during this whole situation.

But things are good and I am blessed. I have to keep in mind that it could have been a whole lot worse. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from everyone. After I recuperate, I will get back to posting more theme oriented posts. Until then, thanks for reading, and peace be with you.
